We are currently hiring for both Millwright I (starting at $42/hour) and Millwright II (starting at $47/hour), offering a supportive work environment and opportunities for career advancement.
Qualifications:
Proficient in understanding and working with mechanical systems and components commonly found in sawmills, such as conveyor systems, saws, kilns, and debarkers.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints.
Skilled in welding and fabrication techniques for repairing and modifying equipment components.
Strong problem-solving skills to identify and diagnose mechanical issues quickly and accurately.
Ability to implement effective solutions to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.
Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems commonly used in sawmill machinery.
Ability to maintain, repair, and troubleshoot issues related to these systems.
Basic understanding of electrical systems and components associated with sawmill equipment.
Knowledge of electrical safety practices and the ability to work alongside electricians when needed.
Experience in implementing preventive maintenance programs to ensure the longevity and reliability of machinery.
Strict adherence to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and colleagues.
Knowledge of and compliance with relevant safety regulations in the sawmill industry.
Effective communication with team members, supervisors, and other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and address concerns.
Collaborative approach to work, demonstrating the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
Willingness to share knowledge and mentor less experienced millwrights or apprentices.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
Flexibility to work during non-standard hours or weekends to address urgent maintenance needs.
Millwright I:
Completed a Millwright Apprenticeship program or equivalent training in the above required qualifications with a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Millwright in an industrial setting.
Millwright II:
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Millwright in a sawmill environment or ability to demonstrate technical proficiency in the above required qualifications.
Advanced troubleshooting skills and the ability to handle complex machinery repairs.
Compensation:
Millwright I - starting at $42 per hour.
Millwright II - starting at $47 per hour.
